KARL LAGERFELD CAFÉ

A new kind of KARL experience is brewing. Maison KARL LAGERFELD proudly debuts its first-ever café, continuing the brand’s expansion into the worlds of lifestyle and hospitality. Located on the corner of Raadhuisstraat and Herengracht in Amsterdam — alongside the brand’s global headquarters — the café is the latest chapter in KARL’s ongoing evolution beyond fashion. Every detail has been thoughtfully crafted to reflect its iconic aesthetic, inviting guests into an immersive experience where style and interior design meet culture, creativity and gastronomy.

An extensive selection of artisanal coffees and teas is complemented by exquisite Pantopia pastries, alongside curated gifts, limited-edition products and exclusive merchandise. This is more than a café—it's an invitation to live the KARL brand universe.

WHAT’S ON OFFER

KARL LAGERFELD CAFÉ reimagines the traditional café experience as a cultural destination, where every object is considered and given the reverence it deserves. Alongside specialty beverages and pastries, guests can explore a curated edit of merchandise and exclusive KARL LAGERFELD products available nowhere else: ready-to-wear and accessories, coffee table books, Tokidoki dolls, candles, fragrances and more.

The KARL experience extends to every detail, from branded coffee cups to bespoke takeaway containers that mimic the façade of the original Maison in Paris — all ensuring the world of KARL travels with you beyond the café’s walls.

PANTOPIA COLLABORATION

The KARL LAGERFELD CAFÉ experience has been co-curated with Amsterdam-based lifestyle hospitality atelier Pantopia and its founder, Youssef Zyat.

Inspired by travel, culture and craftsmanship, Pantopia creates experiences that bring people together through food, design and storytelling. Known for treating pastry as a form of creative expression, the atelier presents each creation as an invitation to discover something new. Two disciplines, one philosophy: beauty lives in the details.

THE DESIGN

At the heart of the café, the gallery-like interior narrates a story of balance and refinement. Minimalist yet highly visual, the space is a study in considered contrasts: brushed metal and warm stone, raw concrete and reflective surfaces. Upon entering, a monolithic island carved from solid Campaspero limestone anchors the space with authority, flanked by floating brushed metal shelves that bring a sense of rhythm to the room.

The true focal point is the coffee bar, encased in a ribbed, glossy metal envelope that catches light from every angle. Behind it, a solid metal wall is crowned by an illuminated Kameo installation, as a glowing tribute to the icon himself. With brand signatures integrated throughout, every detail is deliberate as tradition and modernity are held in perfect dialogue.
